Upon re-watching The Avengers, I realized that when Tony pulls up the holographic images, to see what it is that Coulson is trying to show him, he ends up staring at the Hulk, for a prolonged period of time.

Now, why does this make me feel sad?

Edit: An Anon has just informed me of another tidbit that I was unaware of.

Also adding to this, Stark Industries was the one who supplied Ross with that sound-wave cannon used to incapacitate the Hulk, and was actually one of the few weapons that proved effective on him.

Both the audience and Stark knows he confronted Ross about Hulk/Abomination at the end of “The Incredible Hulk,” but he was merely a consultant, sent in to rustle Ross’ jimmies, but he never knew the whole scope of the situation and who he was involving, nor that some of his older weapons were involved.

But right here, seeing the footage of the attack, he finally realized that in addition to kinda indirectly getting Bruce involved in the Avengers, he also supplied the weapons used to hurt him.

And this is a man whose main purpose as a hero is to un-do the damage he and his weapons have done to others…so maybe befriending Bruce in the movie was his way of saying:

“I’m sorry I supplied a weapon that nearly killed you. But you’re a really awesome dude who loves science, and I’m an awesome dude who loves science. LETS BE AWESOME SCIENCE DUDES TOGETHER AND SAVE THE WORLD!!”

Oh man, that would be the most awkward/amazing “I’m Sorry” card ever…

Anyways, that ends my Science-Bro analysis…
